Wedding!

John and Stephanie were married on Saturday, August 29th at 2 p.m. The weather cooperated at the last moment, with the rain stopping long enough for an outdoor reception. While the happy couple made their way down to the Outer Banks in North Carolina for their honeymoon, Basket Landing sang for the home team on Saturday night.

A Young Fan

Occasionally he sits in on our rehearsals on Saturday nights, strumming along on his "guitar" (which is often a ping-pong paddle!)

Chapin Estates Lake Club

We played for an hour for the members of the Chapin Estates Lake Club on July 4th. This was our second appearance there. The weather cooperated, and a beautiful breeze came up from the lake and across the pavilion while we sang. Jim works for Chapin Estates, and so the audience loved it when he came forward to sing "The Battle of New Orleans" with us. As you can see from the picture below, Nate got some time before we left to get a little extra rehearsal on the banjo and even chat a bit with our friend and neighbor, Bert.

Missionaries of Charity Children's Camp

Yesterday's performance in the South Bronx was one of our best this year.
We sang for an hour to 100 of the neighborhood children - ages 5 to 14, their parents, 25 of Mother Theresa's sisters, and the thirty international volunteers that come each year to help the sisters run the Children's Camp.
The kids sang and clapped throughout the concert.
The group got back Upstate in time for supper and early to bed!
